Building in London

By The Cognition Team

Cognition is growing fast in London. With our UK team expanding by more than 200% in just six months, we’ve opened a new office at The Gilbert in Finsbury Square. This week, we celebrated the milestone alongside the customers, partners and friends helping drive our growth.

When we opened our first London office in January, we said we wanted to work with European customers on their home turf. Since then, UK demand has grown faster than we planned for. Banks, financial institutions and software companies across the region are moving AI software engineering into production. The Access Group has deployed Devin to more than 2,000 engineers across 250 products, contributing to a fivefold increase in merged pull requests and speeding up certain legacy migration tasks by up to 480 times. Teams moving at that pace want experienced people in the room with them.

That’s why we’re investing in people in London, growing our teams across customer engagement, engineering, R&D, partnerships and go-to-market, while bringing in senior leaders with firsthand experience transforming the organisations we serve.

Narry Singh, Senior Managing Director

Narry brings more than 30 years of experience as a founder, operator and board director. He has been a Silicon Valley founder and CEO with two unicorn exits, scaled multi-billion-dollar digital businesses and served as a non-executive director of the London Stock Exchange. Most recently he was Global Head of Digital at AlixPartners, and before that Global Head of Growth and Strategy at Accenture Digital. At Cognition, he will work with CEOs, CFOs and boards on the business decisions behind AI adoption: where to invest, how to measure returns and how to reshape their organizations around AI software engineering.

Aman Thind, Field CTO

Aman led engineering transformation at JPMorgan Chase as Managing Director and Global Head of Technology Strategy & Architecture, and at State Street as EVP and Chief Architect. In both roles, he worked in complex, regulated environments where security and resilience shaped every decision. He joins Cognition with a focus on financial services, working with CIOs, CTOs and engineering leaders across the region to put AI agents into production and expand their use across engineering teams.

Katrin Lehmann, former CIO of Mercedes-Benz

Katrin joins Cognition after serving as global CIO of Mercedes-Benz, where she saw Devin at work across a large engineering organization through the company’s partnership with Cognition. She will work with enterprise technology leaders across Europe as they scale autonomous software engineering, drawing on her experience leading that work from the CIO’s seat.

Our new office opening at The Gilbert was a chance to thank the teams who have trusted us with their codebases, and to introduce them to the people they will work with in London.

What comes next

London is part of a broader year of growth. In September we raised more than $2 billion at a $48 billion valuation and announced SWE-2, our most advanced coding model to date. We have also expanded how enterprises can deploy Devin, including a recent partnership with McKinsey & Company, a multi-year strategic collaboration with AWS, and availability in AWS Marketplace and the Databricks ecosystem.

We believe the UK will lead the shift to autonomous software engineering becoming the enterprise standard. We’re investing in London for the long term, and we’re just getting started.
